Festivals

There are multiple festivals that take place near our vacation rentals, just a short drive away on Myrtle Beach. Here are just a few of our must-sees for 2024!

Carolina Country Music Festival (Thurs June 4-Sun June 9)

The Carolina Country Music Festival is an outdoor festival that takes place in June every year on Myrtle Beach. Nominated for Best Festival of the Year by the Academy of Country Music, it’s a must-see for country music fans. Performers for 2024 include Carrie Underwood, Morgan Wallen, Lady A, Old Dominion, and more fan favorites.

Muzika! Grand Strand Music Festival (Fri June 14-Thurs June 20)

Returning for a 23rd year, Muzika! is an essential viewing experience for theatre fans. Performances range from opera soloists to fully staged and costumed operas. The festival takes place throughout South Carolina, with its Myrtle Beach stops including Broadway Revues and a violin duo aptly named “Baroque to the Future.” You don’t have to be a Broadway aficionado to enjoy this show—there’s something for every listener!

Conway Riverfest (June 29th 11 AM-9:30 PM)

Conway Riverfest is a free festival in Conway, SC, about a 30-minute drive from most of our Grand Strand vacation rentals! The festival offers a full day of jampacked activities. This fun-filled weekend is located in a beautiful area along the banks of the Waccamaw River. Enjoy the riverwalk, live music, vendors, fireworks, and even a golf cart parade! Riverfest has been a staple in the Myrtle Beach area since 1980, delivering family fun and a great atmosphere.

Movies in the Park

outdoor movie, movie, watching a movie, string lights, outside

Another fun, budget-friendly activity is attending an outdoor movie in the park! Movies at McLean takes place on the 2nd Friday of every month from May to October at 7 PM.  Every movie is G or PG-rated, so it’s an event open to the whole family. Here are the movies for the 2024 season:

  • May 10: The Jungle Book
  • June 14: Happy Feet
  • July 12: Free Willy
  • August 9: Migration
  • September 13: Babe
  • October 11: Kung Fu Panda 4

Fireworks

There’s no shortage of fireworks on the beach in the Grand Strand. And nothing says summer quite like lying on the beach and watching the sky light up in technicolor. Here are our favorite spots to catch one:

Broadway at the Beach

Broadway at the Beach sets off fireworks every Tuesday and Saturday night from June to September, with a special show on July 4th for Independence Day.

Pelicans Baseball Stadium

The Pelicans, Myrtle Beach’s minor league baseball team, put on a fireworks show after every home game. You can check out their schedule and watch them in action, or see the show from outside the stadium, conveniently located across the street from Broadway at the Beach. Pelican home games take place weekly, with specials like BOGO hot dogs and $1 beer.

Amusements

For rainy days, there are plenty of options to still have a great time along the Grand Strand. Local favorites include Ripley’s Aquarium, Wonderworks, The Escape Game, and even a Hollywood Wax Museum. This doesn’t even begin to cover the extensive list of things to do in the Myrtle Beach area
